Ocala’s main haunt in 2026 was the free Fort King Haunted Trail on Saturday, Oct. 17, and Silver Springs ran its Lost Souls River Tour on October weekends from Oct. 16. The nearest walk-through haunted houses were Homestead Haunt and Kirby Farm’s ScaryTrain in Williston and Dr. Grimley’s Haunted Trail in Umatilla. Halloween 2027 falls on Sunday, Oct. 31; no 2027 dates have been announced.

Wayne’s World of Paintball, 4841 S Pine Ave, announced on Sept. 23 that its haunted trail would not run in 2026, citing complications with its request to the city. It had been planned for Oct. 9–10, 16–17 and 23–24. Read the cancellation story.

Haunted Houses Near Ocala: Williston and Umatilla

The closest full walk-through haunted houses with live actors were outside Marion County. Williston is northwest of Ocala off US-27 and Umatilla is southeast off SR-40 and SR-19. Each is roughly a 30- to 45-minute drive from downtown Ocala depending on where you start.

The farm rated each attraction from mild to wild. Kirby Family Farm is a nonprofit, and proceeds support its programs for at-risk and special-needs children.

Three woodland trails on one estate: The Rot Fields, The Dark Communion and The Carvehouse. After 10 p.m. the theatrical lighting was turned off and guests walked the trails with a single small hand-held light.

Tips for Visiting Haunted Attractions Near Ocala

Buy ahead and arrive early
In 2026, Homestead Haunt and Kirby Farm both charged $5 more at the gate, and Kirby closed entry at 9 p.m. Silver Springs asked riders to check in 30 minutes before the boat left and did not refund missed tours. The last two weekends before Halloween sell out first.
Match the haunt to the kid
Fort King before 8 p.m. and the Silver Springs boat tour are the gentle options. Homestead Haunt recommended age 12 and up, and Kirby Farm said the ScaryTrain was not for small children. The Rocky Horror shadowcast is 18 and up.
Dress for woods at night
The Williston and Umatilla haunts are outdoor trails on farms and wooded land. Closed-toe shoes, bug spray and a light layer for late October make the wait in line easier. Leave masks and props at home; most haunts prohibit them.

Halloween 2027 falls on Sunday, Oct. 31. As of Oct. 31, 2026, no 2027 dates have been announced for any haunt on this page. This page will be updated when operators post 2027 schedules.
