Trunk or treat is Halloween trick-or-treating done car to car: families decorate their vehicle trunks in a parking lot or park and hand out candy to costumed kids. This record covers every trunk or treat and organized trick-or-treat event held on Oct. 30 and 31, 2026, in Ocala, Belleview and the rest of Marion County that Only In Ocala confirmed; earlier October events are listed further down. Halloween 2027 falls on Sunday, Oct. 31, and organizers have not announced 2027 dates.

Ocala hosted trunk or treat events throughout October 2026 at churches, schools, parks and community centers, most of them free; the last ones were held on Oct. 30 and 31. The dated record below gives each event’s address, time and age range as listed in 2026; confirm 2027 details with the organizer once dates are announced, since schedules can change.
Events are in date order. Entries were checked against the organizer’s own page or listing and rechecked on October 29, 2026; events held earlier in October are listed below the free-events section. More than 60 vendor booths handed out candy, with live entertainment, food trucks and on-stage costume contests at 8 p.m. It was a booth-to-booth trick-or-treat rather than a car-to-car trunk or treat, and it was downtown Ocala’s largest family Halloween night.
An indoor Halloween night with trick-or-treating, games, spooky activities, crafts, music and candy, according to the City’s Oct. 20, 2026, announcement; the City’s Any Age Programs page listed it as a free program. Costumes were encouraged and all ages were welcome; children had to be accompanied by an adult. The City collected candy donations through Wednesday, Oct. 28, at the Recreation and Parks office, 828 NE Eighth Ave.
Decorated vehicles handed out candy in the facility’s open lot on the SR 200 corridor, with food trucks welcome. The facility’s listed phone number was 352-247-4080.
Kids trick-or-treat down the sideline from decorated tailgates during a costumed polo match. The club’s Polo-ween page showed Oct. 25 at the last check, so the Oct. 31 date was not independently confirmed.
Marion County Parks and Recreation has held a free Forest Community Center Trunk or Treat at Sandhill Park, 777 S County Road 314A in Ocklawaha, in past Octobers. The county’s calendar had not posted a 2026 date when this page was checked on October 29, 2026; call (352) 438-2840 to ask about 2027. Churches and schools across the county also hold trunk or treats, many on Halloween night itself. They are added here once the host posts the details on its own website or Facebook page.

Halloween 2027 falls on Sunday, Oct. 31, and organizers have not announced 2027 trunk or treats. The calendar moves on with Veterans Day on Wednesday, Nov. 11, Thanksgiving in Ocala on Thursday, Nov. 26, and Black Friday in Ocala the next day, followed by Christmas events in Ocala, Light Up Ocala and the Christmas parades in Marion County.

The farm many Ocala families still call Brown and Brown Farm now operates as Brown’s Adventure Farm, at 13940 US-301 in Oxford, FL 34484, south of Ocala in Sumter County. Its 7 Weekends of Fall festival runs Saturdays and Sundays from September 26 through November 8, 2026. Saturday hours are 10 a.m. to 8 p.m. and Sunday hours are 10 a.m. to 5 p.m.
The farm lists tickets at $19.95 plus fees online and $24.95 plus fees at the gate, with no blackout dates and no timed entry. Admission covers the corn maze, the Pumpkin House and patch, tractor rides, the petting zoo, jumping pillows and more than 30 other attractions, with free fireworks on Saturday nights. Falloween Fest runs Oct. 31 and Nov. 1, and the season closes with the Fall Finale on Nov. 7 and 8.
Brown’s Adventure Farm 2026 guide: dates, hours, tickets and directionsMost Ocala trunk or treats open at 4, 5 or 6 p.m. and run two to three hours. Arriving in the first half hour means shorter lines and the fullest candy bowls; the largest events, such as the Gray Family Halloween Festival and the Boo Bash in 2026, filled their lots early. Parking at the larger events is in the host’s lot or on nearby streets, so plan a few minutes to walk in.
Buy plenty of wrapped candy and small toys. Plan for more visitors than expected. Mix fun-size candies, stickers, small games, and non-candy items for allergy-friendly options.
Transform your trunk with Halloween themes: pumpkins, cobwebs, lights, or movie characters. Use battery-operated lights and props that fit in your vehicle. Make your trunk visually distinctive and fun.
Play Halloween music or sound effects to create ambiance. Dress up in a costume yourself. Engage with visiting families and create a welcoming, interactive experience.
Arrive early to secure a good spot. Organize treats for easy access. Set up a table or use your trunk bed. Test your decorations and lighting beforehand.
Offer allergy-friendly treats and non-food items. Accommodate children of all ages and abilities. Create a warm welcome for all families in your community.
Follow event organizer guidelines. Keep walking areas clear. Be aware of vehicle movement. Use reflectors or lights. Supervise if you have young helpers.
Government hosts ran several of the largest events on the 2026 list: the City of Ocala’s Fort King Haunted Trail (held Oct. 17) and Boo Bash (Oct. 30), the City of Belleview’s Trunk or Treat, and the Marion County Sheriff’s Office Safe and Spooktacular party. These have the most volunteers, lighting and supervision.
Burnyzz Speed Shop, Krystal Automotive, Paddock Mall, the Humane Society of Marion County and American Legion Post 27 each host a trunk or treat or candy crawl in 2026. Business lots tend to have the most elaborate decorated vehicles and often add food trucks or music.
Churches across Marion County host trunk or treats as family outreach, usually in the last week of October or on Halloween night. Most are announced on the church’s own website or Facebook page two to three weeks ahead, which is why they appear on this list late in the month.
Public and private schools sometimes open their parking lots for a school-community trunk or treat, and county community centers such as the Forest Community Center in Ocklawaha have hosted them in past years. These are typically free and aimed at younger children.
October in Ocala is still warm and humid, often in the 75-85°F range. Choose costumes that keep kids cool while staying visible and safe:
